ANALYSIS: Last season, Geno Smith ranked fifth among quarterbacks in total fantasy points. Through 12 weeks in 2023, he is the overall QB20. Regression was expected for the former second-round pick, but he has looked nothing like the breakout superstar he was in 2022.
A Thursday Night Football matchup with the Dallas Cowboys shouldn't give fantasy managers much optimism in his chances to turn things around. Dallas is likely to dominate Seattle's offensive line, and Dan Quinn's defense has allowed the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game to signal-callers this season. Jalen Hurts and Brock Purdy are the only two quarterbacks to score at least 20 fantasy points against Dallas.
Meanwhile, Smith is averaging under 14 fantasy points per game. While the veteran has plenty of weapons including DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, he is not to be trusted in this spot.
