ANALYSIS: The Dodgers are expected to call up right-hander Gavin Stone from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Wednesday's contest against the Philadelphia Phillies. He has a plus changeup and should rack up plenty of strikeouts. While we know Stone is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, Stone could be a fixture in the Dodgers rotation the rest of the season if Noah Syndergaard continues to struggle.
Stone is the Dodgers' No. 4 prospect who has been terrific over his last few outings after a slow start to the year. The 24-year-old is (1-0) with a 0.93 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and a 15:4 K: BB across 9 2/3 innings. Overall, Stone owns a 4.74 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and 27 strikeouts across 24 2/3 frames in 2023.
Gavin Stone has been stingy in his past two starts, striking out 15 and allowing one run.

Stone will have a tough matchup against the NL defending champs as superstar outfielder Bryce Harper (elbow) is set to return next week. He posted a 1.48 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and 168:43 K: BB in 121 2/3 innings last season across the top three levels of the minors in 2022. Rookie pitchers are unpredictable, but Stone has displayed enough upside in the minors to be added in all league formats.
