FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/3/18): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Jake Finnen highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 2/3/18, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Unlike most of the country, we at RotoBaller NBA are not ready to concede our weekend to the NFL. There are still 15 NBA games left before the Super Bowl, including nine games today. Unfortunately, I prefer honestly and this slate tonight is an ugly one to say the least. The high scoring games will be just that, and the low scoring games will require some fantasy finessing. To add to that, the amount of teams that have crept into fantasy uncertainty has dramatically increased.

Teams like the Wizards, Magic, Pacers, and Bulls have turned into nightly teams. Otherwise known as the teams you cannot just play the starers and hope for the best. All these teams require the right matchup for the most fantasy return. Without John Wall the rest of the Wizards will see more usage, but they also will have to generate offense by themselves, something they tend to struggle with. All in all, be careful today and stack the Warriors-Nuggets game

Below you will find our daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/3/18. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options, to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Tyler Johnson - PG, at DET ($5,000)

Tyler Johnson has been benefiting from the Heat success, but his fantasy numbers only show that every few games. With Goran Dragic high off his All-Star nomination, Johnson is going to benefit from the spacing, like he has in games past. The Pistons backcourt lost serious firepower and I’m confidently betting against them. Until the Pistons become a more defensively disciplined group, I’m advising playing scorers, every time. It doesn’t hurt Johnson is notorious for being a hustle player and he is going to make a difference tonight.

Justin Holiday - SG, at LAC ($4,800)

Justin Holidays price is simply too cheap for his role. It’s hard enough not rostering him based on upside, but at this price it’s almost criminal to fade him. With Zach Lavine carrying more of the offensive workload, Holiday is going to fall back to a more defensive, catch-and-shoot role. This can hurt his fantasy versatility, but overall it plays to his strengths. Holiday tends to start off scoring quickly and slows down as the game goes on. With Lavine back, his scoring consistency will increase with the increased spacing.

Alec Burks - SG, at SA ($3,700)

Another victim of success, Alec Burks has been quiet during the Jazz four game winning streak. Now that Donovan Mitchell is basically good for anything BUT a 40-point night against the Spurs, it will be a good idea to roster one of the top secondary scorers on Utah. Burks is waiting for his opportunities and there’s a very good chance he has more than enough against the Spurs. Yes, the Spurs defense is one of the best in the league, but it won’t change Burks from taking his shots.

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Danilo Gallinari - SF, vs CHI ($4,500)

Danilo Gallinari is still easing his way back into the Clipper offense, but the team clearly realizes how important it is to give him the ball. Another professional scorer alongside Lou Williams, the two have the potency to be a very impactful duo off the bench. While Gallinari might be sliding into a more, Ersan Ilyasova-ish veteran role, playing behind Tobias Harris, it won’t change his potential to score 20 points, or hit his projected value. While his price is low, monitor his minutes but do not be afraid to roster him. Gallinari get’s stats and he doesn’t need all that many minutes to get them.

Lance Stephenson - SF, vs PHI ($4,000)

This is more of an emotional pick, seeing how Lance Stephenson should be riding his momentum from last night. After getting a little bit too heated, Stephenson was pulled for a minute or two, before heading back into the game. Stephenson looked to stay composed and willing to help the team, although the Pacers got trounced late in the 4th quarter. After a tough loss, you can bet Stephenson is going to will his way to fantasy relevance and a Pacer win. The 76ers have been decent against opposing small forwards this season but there is one thing clear about Stephenson, it’s his unorthodox, overly-flashy style. We’ll see how the 76ers respond, but I’m taking Stephenson and his lowly price to the bank.

Ryan Anderson - PF, at CLE ($3,800)

This second to last pick is up to you. I chose Ryan Anderson mainly due to his price and ability to go off, but James Johnson ($5,100) is another, slightly pricier option that should exceed value. Both are stepping into ideal situations, where they should be able to produce and should even see extra opportunities. Anderson is facing the Cavaliers team, to those paying attention, are a DFS-players dream opponent. The upside is there. As for Johnson, he always has upside, and now that Detroit lost a few starters, he will be facing a less experienced defense, to which he will expose. In the words of the great Olmec, the choice is yours and yours alone.

FanDuel DFS Centers

DeAndre Jordan - C, vs CHI ($7,700)

Nothing against Robin Lopez, but DeAndre Jordan should clean up against the Bulls. Chicago might have their fair share of rebounders, but Jordan trumps all of them and it should be evident tonight. Now that the Clippers have a few more outside shooters, the rebounds will start to be a tad more plentiful. It’s hard to say Jordan will increase his rebounds from this point on, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he started getting more chances with the added talent.

Also Consider: Clint Capela - C, at CLE ($7,300)
