Elliott Baas highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 6/24/18.
We've got an 11 game slate on FanDuel this Sunday. This slate omits the Coors Field game, which allows for more flexibility and strategies. DET @ CLE and BAL @ ATL have the two biggest expected totals with a 9.5 O/U each. Four other games have a 9.0 O/U, and everywhere else is at 8.5 or lower.
In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 6/24/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers
Domingo German, NYY (@ TB): $8,500
German has dazzled over his last three starts, collecting 27 strikeouts in 19 innings with a 3.32 ERA and 0.9 K/BB ratio. Tampa Bay represents a great matchup for him because his biggest weakness is neutralized, the long ball. German gets a positive park shift from Yankee Stadium to Tropicana Field, and the Rays have a .129 ISO against right-handed pitching this season, fourth lowest in the majors. With a 3.34 SIERA and 16% swinging strike rate German looks like a budding ace, and he offers us great flexibility as a pivot from high-end options.
Rich Hill, LAD (@ NYM) - $7,600
Hill returned from his latest blister in style this week, holding the Chicago Cubs to no runs on three hits with six strikeouts last Tuesday. He gets a considerably easier matchup today as he takes on the New York Mets, who are the worst team in baseball against left-handed pitching by a considerable margin. They have the worst wOBA (.279), wRC+ (77), and second-worst strikeout rate (25.5%) versus southpaws as a team. Hill is always a danger to leave a game early with injury, but on a slate with pricey bats we want to pay up for, Hill is a worthy dice roll.
Three-Player Astros Stack vs. KC - $12,700 Total Salary
2B – Jose Altuve, HOU - $4,400
SS – Carlos Correa, HOU - $4,000
OF – George Springer, HOU - $4,300
The Astros take on veteran right-hander Jason Hammel, who has struggled all season to keep runs off the board. Hammel has a 4.88 ERA, 4.02 FIP, and 4.83 SIERA in 15 starts this season. His strikeout rate has also plummeted to a meager 15%, meaning lots of balls in play for Astros’ hitters today. Springer has had a big June, posting an .883 OPS, .221 ISO, and 1.08 BB/K ratio so far this month. Altuve has had an even bigger June, hitting .377 with a 1.042 OPS and is fresh off a two-homer game earlier this week. Correa has shaken off an awful May with a .298 AVG and .958 OPS in June. This trio offers a high-floor because each player has an OBP north of .350, and high-ceiling because the Astros have the third highest wOBA as a team against right-handed pitching. If the Astros get to Hammel and the Royals’ league-worst bullpen these three will be heavily involved.
Four-Player Twins Stack vs. TEX - $11,200
1B – Logan Morrison, MIN - $2,300
3B – Eduardo Escobar, MIN - $3,300
OF – Max Kepler, MIN - $2,300
OF – Eddie Rosario, MIN - $3,300
These Minnesota bats are too cheap against Bartolo Colon, who is arguably the worst pitcher on the slate in the middle of a horrendous month. In June Colon has a 9.87 ERA, 7.43 FIP, and six home runs allowed in four starts. The prices on Rosario and Escobar are almost suspiciously low considering how good they have been. Since May 1st Rosario is hitting .357 with 13 home runs, a 1.052 OPS, and a .298 ISO. Escobar is having a fantastic June with a .380 AVG and 17 extra-base hits. As a switch-hitter Escobar hits better from the left side, as he has demolished righties for a 1.011 OPS and .333 ISO this season. Kepler and Morrison are cheap power punt options against Colon, who has a 90.4 MPH average exit velocity against and .563 xSLG this season. This is an especially good matchup for Morrison, since Colon throws a sinker 65% of the time and Morrison has crushed sinkers during his career. Morrison is hitting .294 with a .225 ISO against sinkers all time. Between favorable pricing and a good matchup the Twins are a great team to stack on this slate.
The Final Piece
OF – Kike Hernandez, LAD $2,300 @ NYM
Hernandez is a classic lefty-masher. For his career he has an .865 OPS, .244 ISO, and .367 wOBA against left-handed pitching. That makes him a great value as a solo play against Mets’ starter Jason Vargas. Vargas has an 8.60 ERA, 6.55 FIP, and 2.63 HR/9 in nine starts this season. Eight of the 11 home runs he has surrendered have been to right-handed hitters. Hopefully Hernandez bats second on Sunday, as he’s hit second against a left-handed starter four times in the past eight days.
