FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (5/24/19): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Troy Klauder highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 5/24/19, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

Tonight's main slate starts at 7:05 pm eastern and covers 14 matchups. The all day slate starts at 2:20 pm and includes the early Reds-Cubs game. Another exciting Friday of baseball ahead!

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/24/2019. The picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

We also provide DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me on Twitter @TroyKlauder.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Noah Syndergaard: NYM vs DET ($10,600)

Don't let Syndergaard's 4.50 ERA scare you off, as he's pitched much better than that number would suggest. His 3.10 Deserved Run Average and 3.54 FIP are more accurate estimators his talent. Syndergaard also has just a 3.34 ERA over the last month, showing that his poor season-long numbers are mostly due to a bad start. Thor should demolish the Tigers lineup, as their .274 wOBA versus righties is the second-lowest mark in all of baseball. Syndergaard is an outstanding investment in this home start.

Robbie Ray: ARI at SFG ($8,700)

Ray struggled in his last time out against the Giants, but I expect him to get the best of San Francisco in this rematch. After all, the Giants have a pathetic .269 wOBA against left-handed pitching this season, so they have slim odds at forcing another short outing for Ray. It also helps that Ray will be in one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in San Francisco. While Ray's inconsistencies should be avoided in cash games, his huge 29.5% K-rate should be targeted in GPP contests.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Yasmani Grandal: C, MIL vs PHI ($3,200)

It's extremely rare that I ever play a catcher on FanDuel, but Grandal is an exception at this price. He has been obliterating the ball over the last two weeks, posting a 1.037 OPS. Grandal has always been known as one of the streakiest players in the league, so you don't want to miss out on one of his hot streaks. Opposing starter Jerad Eickhoff has given up five homers in his last two starts and is a perfect target for Grandal and his Brewers teammates.

Jonathan Villar: 2B, BAL at COL ($3,600)

Villar will be a chalky play tonight, but it's for good reason. As a leadoff hitter in Coors Field, the league's most extreme offensive environment, Villar is a fantastic play. At this affordable of a price, there's really no excuse to avoid him. Villar should be considered in both GPP tournaments and cash games.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: 3B, TOR vs SDP ($3,200)

Vlad was named AL Player of the Week last week and has continued his torrid pace, as he's now batting .304 with five home runs over the last 15 days. There's simply no reason for him to have a price this low. Vlad should continue to produce as Toronto's two-hitter, a spot where he can rack up both runs and RBI, and he's at home in a hitter-friendly park.

Javier Baez: SS, CHC vs CIN ($4,100)

For those playing the early slate, Baez is an elite hitter you should be looking at to anchor your lineup. He's got a monster .320/.361/.603 line with 12 homers this year and faces Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani, owner of a 2.00 HR/9. Baez has a great chance at homering, and he should give you a big day even if he doesn't go deep.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Bryce Harper: OF, PHI at MIL ($4,100)

Harper's power potential is mouth-watering as he begins this series in Milwaukee, which is a phenomenal hitter's park. Brewers starter Chase Anderson is due for regression, as he's got a 4.27 FIP with a 4.62 SIERA. Harper should help out in providing that regression, and you can take advantage of it at a decreased price.

Yasiel Puig: OF, CIN at CHC ($2,800)

Puig is expected to be back in the lineup today against the Cubs. While he's struggled this year, he's still been able to return plenty of fantasy value with seven homers and seven steals. This power/speed combo makes him an attractive pick in GPP contests as a cheap upside flier.
