FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (8/8/16): MLB DFS Advice

Max Petrie highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 8/8/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your FanDuel MLB DFS lineups.

Welcome to Week 19 everyone. We've hit the dog days of August, with teams prepping for September runs or setting their sights for 2017. We have a smaller slate with only nine games on tap, but there's a juicy duel between Johnny Cueto and Jose Fernandez along with a Cole Hamels date to Coors.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 8/8/16. You can also see our DraftKings DFS lineups picks for 8/8/16. As for Vegas insights, the heavy moneyline favorites tonight are the Dodgers (-200) and Cardinals (-180). There highest scoring totals are at Coors (Rangers-Rockies, 10.5) and Minnesota (Astros-Twins, 9.5).

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Orioles versus Kendall Graveman

Graveman had a great July (2.68 ERA) but unfortunately all good things must come to an end. He's allowed multiple home runs in his past two outings including six runs over four innings last time out versus the Angels. The Orioles have 131 home runs versus RHP (best in MLB) along with a .795 OPS (2nd). I'm targeting Manny Machado, Chris Davis, and Pedro Alvarez tonight.

Twins versus Collin McHugh

McHugh has had a forgettable 2016, posting a 7-8 record and 4.73 ERA and is three home runs away from setting a career worst (20 HR allowed). The Twins have been climbing up the offensive leaderboards, led by Max Kepler and Eddie Rosario. No reason to jump off the train today.

Also Consider: Dodgers versus Zach Eflin

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Jose Fernandez (SP, MIA) - $10,900

JoFer is coming off rare consecutive losses and is looking to avoid losing three straight starts for the first time ever. Luckily for him he's back at home where he owns a 26-2 record and 1.62 ERA. Look for JoFer to get back on track tonight.

Kevin Gausman (SP, BAL) - $8,300

The Gasman looked as advertised last time out, limiting the potent Rangers lineup to two runs in seven innings. Things get much easier today versus the Athletics; the A's have a .705 OPS versus RHP, 25th in baseball.

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Catcher (C)

Cameron Rupp (C, PHI) - $2,800

Rupp gets a R/L matchup today, a spot where he excels. Rupp has a 1.063 OPS versus LHP and has a 1.111 OPS to start August.

First Base (1B)

Chris Davis (1B, BAL) - $3,600

Davis has had a terrible second half (.132/.280/.191) but he showed signs of life yesterday with a home run and has more success versus RHP. Let's see if he can string together back-to-back games.

Also Consider: Freddie Freeman (1B, ATL) - $3,200

Second Base (2B)

Devon Travis (2B, TOR) - $2,700

Travis has been on fire in August (.355/.375/.710) and comes in at a bargain rate on FanDuel. He's a must play.

Shortstop (SS)

Erick Aybar (SS, ATL) - $2,200

If you pay up for JoFer you have to find value elsewhere and here is my recommendation. Aybar has played like a man auditioning for a trade, tearing it up in August (.364/.364/.591) and solidifying the No. 2 spot in the Atlanta lineup.

Third Base (3B)

Jedd Gyorko (3B, STL) - $2,600

It's all about the matchups baby, not the Benjamin's. Gyorko has traditionally crushed LHP and gets the struggling Cody Reed tonight. Great spot at a below-market price.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Ryan Braun (OF, MIL) - $4,200

Remember when everyone said Braun would fall apart? That was funny. Braunie Bites has a .947 OPS in August (best in baseball) and gets Rob Whalen making his second start ever. He's my favorite option in the $4,200 grouping.

Giancarlo Stanton (OF, MIA) - $3,400

Normally I would fade Cueto but Stanton is 5-for-13 with two home runs off the tough righty, plus Stanton has two home runs already in August.

Ender Inciarte (OF, ATL) - $3,000

Inciarte is working on a 18-game hitting streak including multiple hits in six of his last eight games. He isn't hitting for power, but the safe floor makes him a good selection tonight.

Also Consider: Stephen Piscotty (OF, STL) - $3,000 and Max Kepler (OF, MIN) - $3,300
