BALLER MOVE: Add in Two-QB/Superflex Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 3% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is in line to make his first career start in the Week 6 matchup with the Houston Texans. The No. 3 overall pick out of North Carolina will have limited weapons to work with and a struggling offensive line to begin his tenure as the New England signal-caller, but he's now a must-add player in two-QB and Superflex setups.
Maye rushed for nearly 1,200 yards and 16 touchdowns in his two seasons as North Carolina's starter, and his rushing total includes quarterback sack yards being counted negatively. Although it would be surprising if he lit the league up as a passer this year, he could find success on the ground and produce at least a few spike weeks this year in the QB2 or Superflex spot in lineups.
The Texans have been a neutral matchup for quarterbacks this season, but in leagues where quarterbacks are scarce, he's automatically worth starting over fringe fantasy options at running back, wide receiver, and tight end. It will be interesting to see if Maye becomes a viable option in deep single-QB formats, but for now, he can be left on the waiver wire in those leagues unless you're desperate for an upside flyer.
Drake a Maye with a 48 yard touchdown to KJ Osborn!!
