DraftKings Lineup Picks & Sleepers (5/18/17): MLB DFS Advice

This is a day that is broken up into two different slates. There are nearly an even amount of games early and late. This article will focus around players on both slates, and will hopefully allow you to create lineups for each of the slates.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 5/18/17. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings.

You can read our FanDuel and Yahoo DFS lineup picks as well. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @BalesSJustin.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Baltimore Orioles vs Jordan Zimmermann

The Orioles offense has been on fire recently, as they are hitting nearly .300 with 40% of their hits going for extra-bases over the last week. They get an elite matchup against Zimmermann today, and he has struggled with a 6.28 ERA, 2.1 HR/9, and 1.66 WHIP through seven starts. The Orioles are a -115 favorite in a game set at 10 runs, and they're an elite stacking option in all leagues today.

Seattle Mariners vs Dylan Covey

Seattle has been playing well recently, although they have somewhat lacked power throughout their offense. They are hitting .270 over the last week and 31.6% of their hits have gone for extra-bases. They will face off against Covey, who enters the game with a 7.98 ERA, 2.8 HR/9, and 1.88 WHIP. The Mariners are currently -168 favorites in a game set at 9 runs, and they can be stacked in all leagues.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Jon Lester - vs CIN ($11,300)

Lester has been the tale of two pitchers this season, as he has looked significantly better at home. He has a 1-0 record with a 1.44 ERA and an 8.6 K/9 through four home starts. He gets a decent matchup against the Reds, who have hit well this season, but have struggled to win games. Lester is currently a huge -205 favorite, although the game total has yet to be released. Lester can be used in all leagues.

Jarred Cosart - vs MIL ($4,400)

Cosart has only started two games this season, but he makes an interesting option. He has previously been a starter, which means he can pitch deeper into games than he has this season. He also gets a solid matchup against the Brewers in one of the most pitcher friendly stadiums in the MLB. Cosart doesn't come with elite strikeout potential, but he is extremely cheap and he is a -126 favorite in a game set at only 8 runs. He's a solid tournament option on this slate.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Yasmani Grandal - vs MIA ($3,800)

Grandal has caught fire recently, as he's hitting over .400 over his last 10 games. He has displayed good power, although he only has one home run. He has also been a significantly better hitter at home this season, and he gets a good matchup against Edinson Volquez tonight. Grandal makes a great option in all leagues.

First Base (1B)

Chris Davis - at DET ($4,600)

Davis has struggled quite a bit early this season, but he's hitting over .350 with five home runs over his last 10 games. The majority of his home runs have been on the road this season, and he gets a great matchup against Jordan Zimmermann in Detroit today. Davis can safely be used in all leagues.

Second Base (2B)

Eric Sogard - at SD ($2,800)

Sogard has earned a starting spot for the Brewers with Travis Shaw expected to be out. Sogard will likely hit second, and he has looked outstanding in limited at-bats this season. He has displayed surprising power and he still comes with a low price tag. He's a great salary relief option on this slate, as long as he's announced in the starting lineup.

Third Base (3B)

Kyle Seager - vs CWS ($4,200)

Seager is hitting under .300 over his last 10 games, but he has displayed good power, which has given him solid upside. He'll be playing in Seattle tonight, where he is hitting over .300 on the season. He also gets an elite matchup against Dylan Covey, and he can be used in all leagues tonight.

Shortstop (SS)

Elvis Andrus - vs PHI ($4,000)

Andrus has been enjoying a solid season, as he's hitting around .280 with a good combination of speed and power. He's also hitting in a favorable spot in the Rangers lineup. He gets a great matchup against Nick Pivetta, and Andrus can be used in all leagues on this slate.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Nelson Cruz - vs CWS ($5,000)

Cruz has been playing well this season, as he's hitting over .300 with double digit home runs. He has been a much better hitter at home, as well. He gets an elite matchup against Dylan Covey, and Cruz is a must start part of a Seattle Mariners stack tonight.

J.D. Martinez - vs BAL ($4,500)

Martinez recently returned from injury and he has hit four home runs in as many games. He's an elite hitter in the MLB, and he gets a great matchup against Dylan Bundy. Martinez isn't exactly cheap today, but his price tag is going to jump soon, and he can be used in all leagues.
