DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/28/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Aaron Judge - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on September 28, 2023. Mike's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

MLB chopped up the slate today, but at least we have a uniform slate on both sites with a five-game main slate. That's all we can ask for at this time of the season.

This article contains my picks for the five-game main slate on Thursday, September 28, 2023, for both DraftKings and FanDuel, which locks at 7:07 PM ET. We finally have a uniform slate on both sites, which makes my job infinitely easier.

The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jordan Montgomery, TEX at SEA ($8,800 DK, $10,200 FD)

You'll have to pay a lot more for Montgomery on FanDuel, but he just might be worth it. Montgomery sits as a great value on DK considering he just blanked the Mariners on five hits through seven innings in his last start. He induced a ton of ground balls and struck out six. Montgomery has been outstanding for Texas down the stretch. They have already clinched a wild card so they might not ride Montgomery too hard. That said, the risk is baked into the price on DK. He can only go five innings and still pay off that tag.

Chris Bassitt, TOR vs. NYY ($8,600 DK, $9,500 FD)

The Jays are clinging to the second wild card slot, so we're sticking with teams with something to play for. Much like last night, the cheap pitching is a minefield and could demolish your lineup no matter how many hitters you get right. I'm staying in the high mid-range for both pitchers tonight.

Bassitt gave up just three hits and struck out seven in seven innings in his other start against the Yankees this season. He has had a few really strong starts down the stretch and is the safest play behind Montgomery.

Others to consider: Jesus Luzardo ($9,000 DK, $9,700 FD) at NYM; Ryan Yarbrough ($6,300 DK, $6,900 FD) at COL

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Freddie Freeman - 1B, LAD at COL ($6,500 DK, $4,600 FD)

This may be low-hanging fruit here, but Freeman has homered in each of the last two games in Coors. Overall, he is hitting .333 with two homers and 11 RBI in 12 games against the Rockies this season. Watch out for a resting Freeman here, but if he's in the lineup, he's the 1B I want. The position is weak on this slate.

Brendan Rogers - 2B, COL vs. LAD ($3,600 DK, $2,900 FD)

It only took two months, but Rogers is finally starting to hit. All three of his homers in 2023 have come in the last seven games. He is hot right now and facing a lefty. This price feels cheap for Rogers as we try to find a balance between decent pitching and Coors bats.

Jake Burger - 3B, MIA at NYM ($4,300 DK, $3,200 FD)

Burger continues to smash the Marlins into playoff contention. He is hitting .382 with three homers, nine RBI, and seven runs scored in the last 10 games. David Peterson has been better lately, but better is a relative term. He is still hittable and Burger has 11 homers in just 120 at-bats against lefties this season. I'll take my chances at this price.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Aaron Judge - OF, NYY at TOR ($6,200 DK, $4,300 FD)

Judge has five homers in the last four games. He is still smashing even though the Yankees will miss the playoffs. We obviously can't afford the bats we want AND Judge. He is highlighted here as a pivot off of the crazy Coors ownership of Freeman/Mookie Betts. It's a risky fade but could prove lucrative if Judge continues hitting like he has of late.

Evan Carter - OF, TEX at SEA ($3,900 DK, $3,400 FD)

Carter has four homers in his last seven games. Two of those came in the last series against Seattle. Logan Gilbert was the one starter that Carter didn't hit a homer against, but he still tallied a double. I'll ride the hot back against Gilbert, who has been hot and cold for the last six weeks or so.

David Peralta - OF, LAD at COL ($3,600 DK, $2,900 FD)

Peralta is 3-for-10 in the first two games of this series at Coors. This stadium sure knows how to end a slump! Peralta should continue busting that slump tonight. He is a staggering 7-for-8 in his career against Chris Flexen with a double and a homer.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Chris Flexen

This should go without saying. Flexen has an atrocious 8.69 ERA in 13 home starts.

Favorite pieces: Freeman, Peralta, Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, Jason Heyward

Also consider: Atlanta Braves vs. Jameson Taillon/Javier Assad

Both will pitch about three innings today, but the Braves should have success against both of them. We do have to be careful with the Dodgers and Braves since they are playoff-bound, but if we can keep track of lineups, we might get some good values here too.

Favorite pieces: Matt Olson, Ronald Acuna Jr., Michael Harris II, Ozzie Albies, Eddie Rosario

Sneaky Stack: New York Mets vs. Jesus Luzardo

The Mets are in the top eight of every advanced metric against left-handed pitching in the month of August. The .183 ISO, and 110 wRC+ paint a pretty picture for the Mets against Luzardo. The Mets are averaging nearly five runs per game in September. There is potential here if we look in the right spots.

Favorite pieces: Hayes, Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo, Jeff McNeil, Ronny Mauricio, Pete Alonso
