DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/12/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Mitch Garver - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on September 12, 2023. Dawn Tepper's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Hey RotoBallers, it's another Tuesday, which means another 11-game slate loaded with exciting matchups. Today's games include the Cubs taking on the Rockies, the Diamondbacks facing the Mets, the Red Sox going against the Yankees, the Astros battling the A's, and the Giants playing against Cleveland. Oh, and Oakland at Houston versus Justin Verlander (**sneaky, large multi-entry tournament stack alert**).

Starting pitchers to target include Justin Verlander, Bryan Woo, Freddy Peralta, Joe Ryan, Sean Manaea, Max Scherzer, and Hyun Jin Ryu. Yes, I mentioned Verlander above versus Oakland, and while I expect Verlander to get the win, his 4.69 xFIP and Oakland's .256 ISO versus righties give me pause; Oakland has been sneaky lately. Versus right-handed pitchers on the road, Oakland has a .712 OPS and 95 wRC+ with a slash line of .233/.312/.400.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 9/12/2023 and the slate locking at 7:07 p.m. ET. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential. Now that we got all that out of the way, it's onto the picks! DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Sean Manaea, TEX @ CLE ($5,700 DK, $6,600 FD)

Manaea has a 5.0 ERA but a 4.07 xFIP, which shows he's had a bit of bad luck. The left-hander is facing a Cleveland team with a 90 wRC+, a .130 ISO, and an 88 wRC+ versus lefties for the season. The Guardians have lost seven of their last 10 games and are slashing .231/.295/.363 versus left-handed pitchers. A $5,700 price tag on DK is a solid value and a great way to get some of the Cubbies' bats at Coors, among others.

Bryan Woo, SEA vs. LAA ($7,900 DK, $9,500 FD)

The Angels have an 89 wRC+ over the last 30 games, a 24% strikeout rate, and a .223/.290/.400 slash line versus right-handed pitchers. In Woo's last five starts, he has had one loss and four no-decisions, but during that same time, he has a 3.81 ERA with 14 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched.

Versus right-handed hitters, Woo is allowing just .164/.213/.226, and he is facing an injury-riddled Angels team who have lost six of their last ten games. This type of price tag and matchup allows you to sneak in bigger bats and a more expensive ace to round out your lineup, and one I will be looking to add to my contest lineups tonight.

Also consider Freddy Peralta, Joe Ryan, Hyun Jin Ryu

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Davis Schneider - 2B, TOR vs. Max Scherzer ($5,100 DK, $4,000 FD)

The Blue Jays face right-hander Max Scherzer tonight at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Rookie Davis Schneider is slashing .378/.500/.711 versus righties, .364/.500/.779 for the season. At home, he is batting .394/.524/.848 in 11 games with three home runs and eight RBI. Every slash line for Schneider is impressive, and his splits are almost even when it comes to left and right-handed pitchers.

The rookie is making a strong case for AL Rookie of the Year, even without a full season under his belt. Odds aren't that he won't win, but if his hot start continues, he's certainly in the conversation. I expect his numbers to continue at home tonight versus Scherzer and the Rangers.

Mitch Garver - C, TEX vs. Hyun Jin Ryu ($4,300 DK, $3,500 FD)

Righty Garver, slashing .283/.391/.536 for the season, is facing left-hander Hyun Jin Ryu tonight at Globe Life Field. This is a great matchup for Garver, who is batting .345/.507/.455 versus lefties this season, with 19 hits, six doubles, and seven RBI. Ryu is allowing .235/.264/.422 versus right-handed batters, with seven doubles, four home runs, and 10 RBI. Garver is a solid anchor for a Rangers stack tonight at home versus Ryu.

Patrick Wisdom - 3B, CHC vs. Chris Flexen ($4,000 DK, $3,200 FD)

We had to add a piece of the Coors game, didn't we? The Cubs and Wisdom are facing right-hander Chris Flexen, who is 0-2 in his last five starts with a 6.12 ERA. For the season, Flexen is 1-7 with a 7.36 ERA. Wisdom's numbers are up post-All-Star break, slashing .245/.321/.673 with seven home runs and 12 RBI.

Flexen has a 6.78 FIP and 5.10 xFIP. His 41.2% ground ball rate is on the low side for a Coors game, and his 23.5% HR/FB rate is on the (very) high side for the same game. I will be stacking the Cubs tonight and will try to get different elsewhere when stacking in multi-entry tournaments.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Chas McCormick - OF, HOU vs. JP Sears ($4,500 DK, $3,500 FD)

The Astros are facing lefty JP Sears, who has a 4.51 ERA but a 5.14 xFIP, which means he is due a few dingers. For the season, McCormick is slashing .285/.365/.516, with 20 home runs and 63 RBI. Versus left-handed pitchers, McCormick is batting .348/.411/.661 with nine home runs and 21 RBI. Houston is another favorite stack tonight, and McCormick looks like a great value-bat, given the damage he can do versus Sears at home.

Ian Happ - OF, CHC vs. Chris Flexen ($5,100 DK, $3,600 FD)

Switch-hitting Happ is well worth his $5,100 price tag tonight, given that he is facing Chris Flexen at Coors Field. Happ has been a bit cold these past five games, but for the season, he is slashing .240/.356/.412 with 17 home runs and 72 RBI, and versus righties, he is .251/.376/.433. The Cubs/Rockies game has the highest projected game total of just over 12, and most of the runs will be coming from the Cubbies' bats. Tonight's matchup is a great opportunity for Happ to make an impact and get those numbers back up where they belong.

Mike Yastrzemski - OF, SF vs. Cal Quantrill ($3,400 DK, $2,900 FD)

San Francisco faces right-hander Quantrill tonight, with a 5.44 ERA and a 5.44 xFIP. The Giants' projected run total for tonight is almost five, and Yastrzemski is slashing .625/.667/.1.25 in his previous five games, with four doubles, two home runs, and five RBI.

Over the last 30 days, the Giants have a .173 ISO and 126 wRC+, up from 95 for the season. Versus right-handed pitchers, Yastrzemski is .274/.366/.533 with 11 home runs and 29 RBI. San Francisco is a favorite tournament stack of mine tonight, and Yaz will be a significant part of that stack.
