DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (5/27/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

justin verlander fantasy baseball rankings pitchers draft sleepers MLB injury news

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on May 27, 2022. Thunder Dan's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

After another high-scoring slate last night it seems like the bats around the league are finally warming up. But there were also a number of really solid pitching performances, too, so you needed some guys like Aaron Nola and Frankie Montas in your lineups last night to really do some damage in GPPs.

Here we are again with another massive Friday slate - 13 games on the docket and no shortage of plays. These big slates can feel overwhelming at times, but I'm going to try to help you lock in a few bats and arms to get your lineups a head start.

As always, this article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Friday's slate locks at 7:05 EST on 5/27/2022. The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options, and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack! You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all of that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Justin Verlander, HOU @ SEA ($10,500 DK, $10,800 FD)

JV is the highest-priced pitcher on the slate on either site tonight, but if you're paying up for an SP1 today, it's him. While he underwhelmed a bit in his last start against Seattle, Verlander comes into this game in great form and continues to look sharp in 2022.

The strikeouts have been hit and miss, but I think he's likely to whiff more than just three against Seattle this time around based on his K% and Seattle's strikeout rates. You're paying a premium for him, but he has the highest median projection on the board and offers the type of floor/ceiling combo you expect from a high-priced ace.

Jeffrey Springs, TBR vs. NYY ($6,300 DK, $6,200 FD)

For my other pitcher, I am dropping way down into the value range for a young lefty on the rise - Tampa's Jeffrey Springs. He started pitching out of the bullpen but is finally getting stretched out and was able to go 5.2 innings and 80 pitches in his last start against the Orioles.

Springs whiffed seven Orioles in that start and now has a 27% strikeout rate on the season. It's no fluke either as he's getting a 15.2% SwStr% as well. 27 innings is a small sample, but this kid looks like he could be really good. Many might shy away from the match-up with the Yankees and flock to Jon Gray in a better spot against Oakland, but I really like Springs here for tournaments at a fraction of the ownership.

Also consider: Shane Bieber, Alek Manoah, Jon Gray

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Manny Machado - 3B, SDP vs. Jose Quintana ($5,100 DK, $4,400 FD)

Manny Machado against a lefty who is backed by a sub-par bullpen- where do I sign up? Machado has been absolutely raking this year and his splits against LHP are just crazy as he's sporting a .530 wOBA and .452 ISO. He's been simply one of the best hitters in baseball and I want to target him here in this favorable match-up.

Rowdy Tellez - 1B, MIL vs. Dakota Hudson ($4,600 DK, $3,500 FD)

Rowdy and the Brew Crew get a very hittable righty on the hill today in Hudson, who is guy who relies almost entirely on getting groundballs and weak contact and has only a 13% strikeout rate. Rowdy can elevate the sinker with big lefty uppercut swing and I like his chances to barrel up some baseballs tonight. I think he could even be sneaky here as the public might be off him since he's cooled off from his torrid stretch earlier this month.

Francisco Lindor - SS, NYM vs. Bailey Falter ($5,500 DK, $3,800 FD)

Lindor is rolling right now with six double-digit DK point outings in his last eight games. The switch-hitting shortstop has a good match-up with Philly lefty Bailey Falter, who's looked a little rough in his limited time in the bigs this year. Even if Falter doesn't go deep into this game, Philly's bullpen has been pretty bad this season and I love that Franky can swing around to the left side to face any RHP that he may see out of the pen.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Yordan Alvarez - OF, HOU vs. Chris Flexen ($5,000 DK, $3,800 FD)

Houston is one team I want to target today as they are a team that makes a lot of contact and faces a pitcher in Flexen who hasn't missed all that many bats (16% K rate). Flexen also sports a 5.82 xFIP and around 90% of batted balls put in play against him have been hard or medium contact.

Alvarez has cooled off a little lately, but his splits this year against RHP are still elite as he has a .426 wOBA and .416 ISO. I love the price on Yordan here and the presence of other high-priced bats in decent spots which could end up lowering his ownership as well.

Mookie Betts - OF, LAD vs. Madison Bumgarner ($6,100 DK, $4,400 FD)

Paying 6k for a hitter on DK might seem hard to do on a big slate with a lot of good bats, but Mookie is still likely worth it based on how well he's hitting the ball over the last month and his matchup with lefty MadBum and the bad Arizona bullpen. We saw the Dodgers go off last night again, reminding everyone that they can break a slate easily and I just can't fade their leadoff hitter when he's playing this well and the offense is humming along as it is.

Kevin Kiermaier - OF, TBR vs. Jameson Taillon ($3,000 DK, $2,600 FD)

Kiermaier has been so good over the last two weeks that the Rays had to move him up into the leadoff spot. He hasn't disappointed, either, as he continues to hit for average, power, and has the speed to turn doubles into triples or swipe a bag. Taillon is a middling pitcher who has struggled with lefties over his career. I love the value on Kiermaier here on both sites, he's a great building block for cash games.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Here are my top stacks for tonight (in the order in which I like them)

L.A. Dodgers - MadBum is washed and the D-Backs bullpen is the gift that keeps giving.

Houston Astros - Chris Flexen is as hittable as they come and gets hit hard by righties and lefties.

New York Mets - Falter could easily falter here (sorry I had to do it) and the Mets could then do work against a well below-average Philly bullpen.

Milwaukee Brewers - Hudson is walking nearly as many guys as he strikes out and the Brewers have lefties who hit the sinker well (and don't forget about Tyrone Taylor for value!)

I hope I gave you a head start on your research today and I wish you the best of luck! If you ever have questions about DFS or fantasy baseball, my DMs are always open and I appreciate you taking the time to read my picks today.
