Aaron Judge

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on Aug. 5th, 2019. Daniel E. Dobish's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Monday's schedule in Major League Baseball has a total of 14 games, with 13 contests starting after 7:05 p.m. ET or after. Be sure to double-check the weather and the lineups before finalizing your roster.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/5/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too.

Today's Weather

The winds will be light and variable across all of Monday's MLB venues, and there is a less than 10 percent chance of precipitation across all parks. Enjoy the worry-free day!

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Aaron Civale - P, CLE vs. TEX ($6,900)

Civale allowed just two hits, three walks and six strikeouts across six scoreless innings in his major league debut on June 22 against the Detroit Tigers. The Rangers are 2-8 in the past 10 against a right-handed starting pitcher while going 4-11 in the past 15 on the road, so Civale could be a low-cost DFS option with a fairly easy path to a win.

Rick Porcello - P, BOS vs. KC ($6,400)

The Red Sox limp in on an eight-game losing skid, but Porcello and the home side are heavy favorites to top the Royals. Kansas City enters on a six-game losing skid of their own, and they're 1-6 in the past seven vs. RHP. Kansas City has also lost seven straight meetings in this series, and Boston is 4-1 in Porcello's past five outings and 5-0 in the past five vs. AL Central foes.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Christian Vazquez - C, BOS vs. KC ($4,200)

Vazquez has piled up some rather impressive numbers at Fenway Park this season, hitting .286 with nine doubles, seven home runs and 22 RBI with a .799 OPS at home. Vazquez is slashing .295/.342/.552 against lefties, 110 points higher vs. LHP than against RHP.

Paul Goldschmidt - 1B, STL at LAD ($4,400)

Goldschmidt has been on fire lately, hitting safely in 11 consecutive outings. He is slashing .370/.397/.891 with seven homers, 14 RBI and 11 runs scored during his 11-game hitting streak.

Eric Sogard - 2B, TB vs. TOR ($4,500)

Sogard will square off against his former team, so expect a strong game in his return to Toronto. He is 5-for-13 (.385/.467/.923) with a double, two homers and six RBI in four games since joining the Rays and the MLB Trade Deadline.

Mike Moustakas - 3B/2B, MIL at PIT ($4,200)

Moose is a cheap source of power in Monday's series opener against Pirates RHP Dario Agrazal, who has allowed eight homers across 37 innings in just seven outings. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ($3,900) is also a cheap source of power. He enters red hot with a .486/.513/.946 slashing line with four homers and 18 RBI during his current eight-game hitting streak.

Trea Turner - SS, WAS at SF ($4,400)

The former standout at North Carolina State has hit safely in each of the past 10 games, going 13-for-44 (.295) with seven runs scored, a homer and three RBI. Turner doesn't have a long history against RHP Jeff Samarzjia, but he is an impressive 6-for-10 (.600) with a double and a solo home run in their brief dealings.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Aaron Judge - OF, NYY at BAL ($4,600)

Judge is a pretty solid value at this price level, especially against Orioles RHP Gabriel Ynoa, who has been absolutely putrid. 'All Rise' is hitting .273 with a double, a solo home run and six runs scored over the past week, showing some signs of life. Look for the resurgence to continue on Monday.

Austin Meadows - OF, TB vs. TOR ($4,700)

Meadows will be looking to stay hot in Monday's series opener vs. RHP Jacob Waguespack. The Tampa outfielder has hit safely in seven straight, going 9-for-30 with three doubles and five RBI.
