DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/17/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on August 17th, 2019. Ben Rolfe's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Saturday sees another split slate with six games in the afternoon and nine in the evening. The evening slate is the featured one and that is where our attentions lie.

The Red Sox are the favorites on this slate in a big way but Eduardo Rodriguez has a tendency to struggle negating his value. The Rockies and Mets are also decent favorites but we are absolutely not touching the Rockies in Colorado. Seven totals on this slate find themselves in double-digits, with the highest being in Colorado and Boston.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/17/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @benrolfe15.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Jacob deGrom, NYM (vs. KC) - $11,600

It was either Ryu or deGrom for me here and deGrom has a slightly better matchup out of the two. In six starts since the All-Star break he has allowed four earned runs and struck out 51 in 38 innings. He has a really nice ceiling in this one and it is going to be hard to pass him up.

Logan Webb, SF (@ ARI) - $5,800

Webb will be making his debut in this one and he comes in with solid numbers. His numbers across the four levels of the minors are spectacular with 69 strikeouts and an ERA below 2. He could be a sneakily cheap option here if he gets it right.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

C - Yasmani Grandal, MIL (@ WAS) - $3,700

Grandal has been solid if unspectacular this season and his numbers against right-handed pitchers are along similar lines. He has 14 home runs with a .219 ISO and a .354 wOBA.

1B - Eric Thames, MIL (@ WAS) - $3,700

Thames has hit 14 of his 15 home runs against right-handed hitters with a .260 ISO and a .368 wOBA. He is seeing the ball well right now with a .344 batting average in August.

2B - Mike Moustakas, MIL (@ WAS) - $3,600

It’s been a good season for Moustakas with 27 home runs. 18 of those have come against right-handed pitchers with a .252 ISO and a .344 wOBA.

3B - Scott Kingery, PHI (vs. SD) - $4,100

Kingery has 30 extra base hits against right-handed pitchers this season. With 10 home runs and a .212 ISO against the hit-or-miss Dinelson Lamet he makes for a nice value here.

SS - Corey Seager, LAD (@ ATL) - $4,300

Seager is hitting .284 with 10 of his 12 home runs against right-handed hitters. He has a .240 ISO and a .364 wOBA when righties are on the mound, and now he is facing Mike Foltynewicz, who has struggled with an ERA above six.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Michael Conforto, NYM (@ KC) - $4,600

Conforto is hitting .268 with 19 home runs against right-handed pitchers this season. His .268 ISO and .386 wOBA should give him a real chance against Royals starter Jakob Junis.

Joc Pederson, LAD (@ ATL) - $4,300

A player hitting .244 with 24 home runs, .276 ISO and a .359 wOBA against right-handed pitchers against a pitcher with an ERA over six? Yes please.

Shin-Soo Choo, TEX (vs. MIN) - $4,100

Choo is hitting .287 with a .217 ISO and a .379 wOBA against right-handed hitters. It won’t be easy against Jose Berrios but with a .230 ISO and a .384 wOBA at home he should have a chance.
