DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (7/13/19): MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on July 13th, 2019. Ben Rolfe's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Saturday does not often see a predominantly evening slate, but the first Saturday post-All-Star break is different. The double-header in Baltimore means we have five games in the afternoon, before a big 11-game slate in the evening.

Boston is the biggest favorite on the slate, but the way Sale has been pitching it is hard to be willing to invest too much capital in him for this matchup. In terms of totals, the biggest two can be found in Colorado and Texas. Finding value in those two matchups could go a long way towards winning your tournaments.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 7/13/19. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. Be sure to also check out all the Vegas Odds for today's slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like FanDuel, and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @benrolfe15.

DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Matt Boyd, DET (@ KC) - $11,100

This is a strange slate because there are some really good pitchers but they all either have difficult matchups or tough situation due to the ballpark or weather. I ummed and ahhed about this one because Morton is perhaps the most in-form pitcher facing the weakest team. However, despite Boyd being out of form, I am going to save the $700 and get the pitcher in a pitching friendly ballpark, with the pitching friendly weather conditions. Boyd may have allowed eight earned runs in his last two starts, but in those 12 1/3 innings he has struck out a whopping 24 hitters. If Boyd gets it right his ceiling is perhaps the highest of anyone on this slate, with the weather, ballpark and relatively poor opponent.

Julio Teheran, ATL (@ SD) - $6,600

This value for Teheran absolutely astounds me. The Braves right-handed pitcher has a 3.75 ERA with 42 earned runs allowed. However, 13 of those earned runs have come in just two starts, leaving 29 in the other 92 2/3 innings he has thrown this season, equating to a 2.82 ERA in those starts. In a similar vein, his ERA on the road is higher than at home. However, the numbers surrounding that are very similar, suggesting there has been some bad luck on the road. Now in San Diego, he will get neutral weather and a team who rank fourth-worst in the league in runs scored and batting average at home this season.

DraftKings DFS Infielders

C - Robinson Chirinos, HOU (@ TEX) - $3,300

I am really just plumping for value here with Chirinos. Facing Mike Minor is not easy, but the Astros are full of hitters that are strong against left-handed pitchers. Chirinos has solid numbers when it comes to facing lefties, with a .360 wOBA and a .200 ISO. Additionally, he is back in his old home park, which is hitter-friendly, so this is a good time to gamble on him.

1B - Rhys Hoskins, PHI (vs. WAS) - $4,100

Going against Patrick Corbin is never ideal, but there are factors which favor Hoskins here. The weather in Philadelphia is expected to aid hitters, and Hoskins has a .306 ISO and .425 wOBA when it comes to facing lefties.

2B - Jose Altuve, HOU (@ TEX) - $3,600

As I said above, Minor is not a great pitcher to go against, but Altuve's numbers against lefties this season are out of this world. A .353 batting average, five home runs, .353 ISO and a .444 wOBA are too hard to pass up, especially in a hitter-friendly park.

3B - Eugenio Suarez, CIN (@ COL) - $5,300

A hitter with a .282 ISO, .410 wOBA and a .296 batting average against left-handed pitchers, facing a lefty in Coors? Yeah, that sounds like something I would be willing to pay up for.

SS - Paul DeJong, STL (vs. ARI) - $3,600

I keep going back to DeJong because his numbers are worth the value that you can often find him at. Against right-handed pitchers, he has a .331 wOBA and a .186 ISO, but the value here is in the hitter-friendly weather in St. Louis for this game. There is a very good chance DeJong provides value on this price.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

Joey Gallo, TEX (vs. HOU) - $4,800

Gallo has been absolutely superb this season and his numbers against left-handed pitchers are a massive part of that reason. In 80 PA he has seven home runs, a .348 batting average, a .424 ISO and a .485 wOBA.

Nick Senzel, CIN (@ COL) - $4,600

Senzel provides a good value way of getting another Reds hitter in your lineup. Senzel has decent numbers with lefties on the mound, with a .328 batting average, .239 ISO and a .387 wOBA. He is not a lights out option but in hitter-friendly Colorado, he presents nice value compared to some of the other bats.

Bryce Harper, PHI (vs. WAS) - $4,300

It has not been an amazing year for Harper in 2019, but this value is something to bounce on, especially with the weather suiting hitting in Philadephia. Harper has six of his 16 home runs this season against lefties, as well as a .276 batting average, .265 ISO and a .376 wOBA.
