DeMario Douglas is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 9 of the 2024 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Bench and Stash
ROSTERED IN: 44% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: New England Patriots wide receiver Demario Douglas contributed minimally in his team's win over the New York Jets in Week 8. Unfortunately, his favorite quarterback, Drake Maye (concussion), is now in concussion protocol after suffering a head injury in the game.
The NFL’s officiating needs to be revamped and fixed. You miss this obvious helmet to helmet when a QB is giving himself up and it results in a potential concussion/Drake Maye being knocked out of the game. pic.twitter.com/52RwMS6sCR

We've seen plenty of "Pop" Douglas with backup QB Jacoby Brissett throwing him the ball, and it isn't pretty. The offense becomes incredibly one-dimensional, and Pop starts to get far fewer targets, becoming unstartable in fantasy leagues. It will probably stay this way until Maye comes back.
The freshman QB will likely miss at least one game, but it's not a great idea to drop Douglas. The upside is there when the rookie signal-caller is the one running the show, and he should be stashed on benches of managers who have room to stow him. You might be in for the long haul on this one, but it should pay off eventually.

We're through 11 weeks of NFL action in 2025, and the running back position remains one where it's difficult to find value.
