David Johnson is a 2021 fantasy football draft sleeper at running back and an ADP draft value. Target Johnson as an undervalued RB in fantasy football drafts.
BALLER MOVE: Target Around ~110 Overall (RB40)
CURRENT ADP: ~RB50
ANALYSIS: Fantasy football mangers won’t have it easy when making their decision on which Texans running back will contribute the most in 2021, especially during fantasy football drafts, because the team is preaching a committee approach. While I don’t see David Johnson being viewed as the "official" starting running back until the first carry of the NFL season for the Texans, it’s hard for me to imagine a scenario where last year's RB13 in PPR leagues (average per game played) will not have a major share say in Houston’s backfield in 2021.
In the 12 games he played last year, he was ranked as RB13 in PPR leagues. Johnson still presents a tremendous return on investment and a RB value pick for drafters, with his current ADP sitting near RB50. I would get more aggressive than that in PPR leagues, bumping him up a few spots to RB40. The Texans may be playing from behind a lot this year, so Johnson may be busy getting passing-down work. Add in some rushing attempts, and you have the making of a mid-to-late round flier with upside.
