BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 55% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: It had to happen at some point... or did it? Darius Slayton might not have finished the two most-recent weeks as the best Giants receiver but that doesn't mean he's not still commanding the most targets and your attention by extension. Injuries and fluky stats from other receivers in the Big Blue offense still have Slayton looking like the safest bet on his team ROS.
Wan'Dale Robinson had a massive 19.4-PPR outing two weeks ago when he caught 9 passes (13 targets) for 100 yards, but injured his ACL and is now done for the year. Richie James has scored touchdowns on back-to-back games in what seems to be a rather unsustainable development.
On the other hand, Slayton is coming off his worst game since Week 6. So, what is this about? Well, Slayton kept his target diet up getting six looks last Thursday at Dallas while catching three of those passes for 63 yards. Slayton has grabbed at least three targets in five consecutive games while racking up 58+ yards in each of those games. In the last four, he's always caught passes for 63 or more yards, actually.
Some fantasy GMs will try to get rid of Slayton after this "bad" single-digit-PPR outing. Don't be one of those, or if you are looking from the outside, make sure to grab some shares the minute Slayton gets released from some other team in your league.
Slayton will keep getting his 6+ targets per game and has been the most solid wideout of the Giants in the second third of the season. Prior to last Sunday's 9.3 PPR outing, Slayton had scored at least 11.6 fantasy points in each of his four games played with an average of 14.6 PPR per game while scoring two touchdowns (one-and-one in weeks 7 and 10) and reaching 86+ yards two different times.
An extraordinary player worth rostering in most leagues and starting in almost all of them at least in the WR3 slot.
