Danilo Gallinari is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 10 of the NBA season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 31% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Italo Disco was always my father's music genre of choice. Makes sense Danilo Gallinari is my under-the-radar player of choice, then. Gallinari, who started the year on a putrid run of performances, has finally improved his game and although he's still no more than a bench/role player in the Hawks system, his production has been rather nice of late.
Gallo has played as many as eight games in December through Friday. He's logging some healthy 26 MPG, and although his usage rate isn't remotely close to huge (18.7%) he's still commanding almost 10 FGA per game. Best of all? Gallinari is dropping double-digit pops nightly, is shooting 45.3% from the field, and he's dumping 2.3 3PM per game in that December span of games.
While Gallinari is shooting 41.5% on the year, he's also doing it (41.8%) from three-point territory and scoring on 92.3% of his free-throw attempts. Of Gallo's 7.4 FGA per game this season, 4.8 (!) of them come from beyond the arc. Only five players with 10+ games played to date are hoisting more three-pointers per game than Gallinari while playing 22 minutes per game or fewer, and just one is hitting them at a higher clip than Gallo's 41.8 percentage. The line in the past seven games can't be much better, as the Italian is doing a little bit of everything with 14 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 1.7 APG against just 0.4 TOV a pop.
