D'Andre Swift's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 18 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit D'Andre Swift for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Start in All Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB1
ANALYSIS: Philadelphia Eagles running back D'Andre Swift was a polarizing fantasy football pick. While many thought he would be part of a backfield committee, the fourth-year star is the RB17 for the year, averaging 11.2 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Swift has struggled to stay healthy in his career, never totaling 1,000 rushing yards in a season. He has managed to stay healthy this year, playing in every game. Last week, the former Georgia star had 61 yards against the Arizona Cardinals, giving him his first career 1,000-rushing-yard season.
Unfortunately, the Eagles lost to the Cardinals, making this week’s matchup against the New York Giants complicated for fantasy players. The Giants have surrendered 21.8 fantasy points per game to running backs, the eighth-most in the NFL. The question is – how long will Swift have to take advantage of the matchup?
The Eagles have clinched a playoff spot. They can secure the NFC East division title for the second consecutive year with a win over the Giants and a loss by the Dallas Cowboys. However, the Cowboys are heavy favorites against the Washington Commanders.
Both NFC East matchups are at the same time, meaning Philadelphia will be scoreboard-watching. If the Cowboys get a massive lead on the Commanders, expect the Eagles to pull their key starters, including Swift.
Anyone who plays Swift in Week 18 is running the risk that he doesn’t finish the game in what could be a worthless matchup for Philadelphia.
