Dalton Schultz's fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 15 (2023). Our advice on whether you should start or sit Dalton Schultz for fantasy lineups.
BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: TE2
ANALYSIS: Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz has had a solid year on a surprising fantasy-friendly offense. The veteran is the TE12 for the season, averaging 8.5 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. While C.J. Stroud’s two favorite targets have been Nico Collins and Tank Dell, Schultz has earned a consistent role in the offense.
The tight end has 40 receptions on 61 targets for 455 receiving yards and five touchdowns. Schultz has scored double-digit fantasy points in five of the past eight contests, totaling 16 or more twice.
This week, he will have a significant role on offense. The Texans will be without Stroud (concussion), Collins (calf), and Dell (season-ending broken fibula) for tomorrow’s matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
With Stroud out this week, Case Keenum will start at quarterback. Fantasy players should expect the veteran quarterback to lean on Schultz. Houston will have a limited wide receiver core led by Noah Brown, Robert Woods, and John Metchie III.
Tennessee has held tight ends to only 6.1 fantasy points per game, the fewest in the NFL. They are the only team not to surrender a receiving touchdown to a tight end this year. Yet, I believe fantasy players should consider Schultz a low-end TE1 because of his projected target volume with Collins and Dell out of the lineup.
