Panthers wide receiver (WR) Curtis Samuel is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 8 of the 2020 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: Throughout the season, the Carolina Panthers have continued to utilize wide receiver Curtis Samuel in a number of ways. He has had at least four targets in five of his six games and he's earned at least four carries on three occasions.

CLAIM IT NOWIn Week 7 against the New Orleans Saints, Samuel scored his first touchdown of the year on a five-yard run. He also had a season-high six catches for 48 yards in the game. Robby Anderson led the team in targets with eight in Week 7, but Samuel was second on the team in targets with six.
Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has been fantastic this year, which has led to a dynamic start to the year for Anderson. Bridgewater's standout play should enable the Panthers to have multiple fantasy assets going forward. Samuel and the team's No. 2 receiver, D.J. Moore, both have the ability to shine alongside Anderson.
Samuel is a bit of a swiss-army knife, playing a unique role in the offense. He should continue to see around six or seven touches per game going forward, which makes him a potential flex option PPR leagues of 14 teams or deeper. He's worth adding in those leagues if you need some receiver help. In more shallow leagues, however, he can remain on waivers for now.
