Closers, Saves, Relief Pitcher (RP) Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Points Leagues - February Updates (2025)

Ryan Helsley - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Closers and Saves Sleepers, MLB Injury News

RotoBaller's closers, saves, relief pitcher (RP) points league fantasy baseball rankings, updated for February 2025. Win your drafts with our points league and H2H points rankings.

Starting pitching is a premium in points leagues, but plenty of relievers can accumulate saves and generate a ton of points. We break it all down for you with our 2025 fantasy baseball closers, saves, relief pitcher rankings and tiers for points leagues and H2H points leagues.

Closers are more sought after in standard 5x5 roto leagues than points leagues, as not one relief pitcher is ranked in our top 50 overall points rankings below. Edwin Diaz is the top relief pitcher off the board and ranked 59th overall, followed by Emmanuel Clase at 67 and Ryan Helsley at 68. In points leagues, with the amount of talent at RP, fantasy managers can afford to wait to draft a relief pitcher in the later rounds. Also, starters with relief pitcher eligibility, such as Bowden Francis, can be more valuable than some borderline closers as they can rack up points in a starting relief spot.

The RP rankings below are specifically designed for fantasy baseball points leagues, put together by RotoBaller's MLB points expert Nicklaus Gaut. We also have many other fantasy baseball rankings, tools, and resources to help you win in 2025, including our constantly-updated fantasy baseball points rankings for all positions. RP Points Rankings for Fantasy Baseball (February)

These rankings are for points and head-to-head points leagues. You can also see our roto fantasy baseball rankings.

Before we get to the rankings, let's quickly review points leagues and how they differ from other formats. Typically, points leagues have different league settings and scoring formats than other fantasy baseball leagues. Different MLB stats and categories are assigned different point values, and those can vary by individual league settings. Those different point buckets are then added up over the course of a scoring period or season.

In many cases, hitters who walk more and strike out less are preferred for points leagues. Also, many league formats tend to give more weight to pitchers than normal, as they can easily accrue points through categories like Innings Pitched. These are the general frameworks that we use for our points league rankings below, and explain why they look different than more standard 5x5 roto fantasy baseball rankings.
