ROOKIE DRAFT ANALYSIS: Bhayshul Tuten is an intriguing prospect. If the 2025 running back draft class were not so deep, he might have been a Day 2 selection. Instead, he slipped to the fourth round and landed in a crowded backfield. For now, Tuten may be a depth piece, but there is an opportunity to make a name for himself in this backfield.

Travis Etienne Jr. and Tank Bigsby figure to be the 1A and 1B options in this offense, respectively. However, neither player played exceptionally well last season. With a new regime on its way into town, it seems as though Tuten has a chance to make his mark as this regime's selection at running back.

Leading up to the draft, there was potential for Jacksonville to select running back Ashton Jeanty in the top five. When it made the trade for dual-threat Travis Hunter, it sacrificed a lot of draft capital and took itself out of the running for a running back on the first two days. However, it was clear that it wanted to address the position.
Tuten's selection suggests that Jacksonville could be preparing for the departure of Etienne this coming offseason (or a trade before the season). While Tuten may not have a prolific rookie season, there is a path to success in the future given his talent and athleticism. Any poor play from Etienne or Bigsby in 2025 could also vault Tuten up the depth chart. He is a name to keep an eye on and a late-Round 2 option in rookie drafts.
