The top Week 8 running back streamers, fantasy football pickups and RB starts for 2025. Target these fantasy rb streaming options with strong Week 8 matchups.
With injuries and several high-end running backs on bye, such as Kyren Williams and Jahmyr Gibbs, several managers will turn to streaming options at the RB position in Week 8.
Even though most of the top-24 options are widely rostered, some sneaky players are widely available that possess just as much upside this weekend.
Let's take a look at the top streaming options for Week 8.

Top Running Back Streamers for Week 8
Only players rostered in fewer than 60% of fantasy football leagues are considered potential streamers.
Brashard Smith (KC) vs. WSH
10% Rostered
The seventh-round rookie has begun to see his role increase and could be in store for his most productive games this weekend. Since Week 4, Smith has caught at least three passes in each contest and seen four more targets in all but one. In addition, in Week 7, Smith also logged double-digit carries for the first time this season.
While most of his workload came in the second half, seeing the Chiefs continue to increase his role is a positive sign. With Kareem Hunt (knee) limited with an injury, Smith could operate as the clear No. 2 to Isiah Pacheco instead of being the change-of-pace option.
Facing a struggling Washington defense, Smith is a viable FLEX play in deeper PPR formats.

Tyjae Spears (TEN) vs. IND
30% Rostered
Since returning from the IR, Tyjae Spears has quietly taken the slight lead in the committee with Tony Pollard. In Week 6, Spears logged 59% of the snaps while Pollard saw just 43%. While Spears took a slight step backward in terms of snap% in Week 7, he still took five carries for 22 yards and was targeted four times for the second-straight game.
Facing the potent Indianapolis offense, the Titans will likely be playing from behind. This bodes well for Spears, who has become the team's primary receiving back. While his TD upside is lower playing on an underperforming offense, his receiving upside provides him a safe floor in PPR leagues.
Tyler Allgeier (ATL) vs. MIA
45% Rostered
While Tyler Allgeier enters this game carrying a questionable tag, he is available as a low-end RB2/high-end FLEX if he were to suit up. Even though Allgeier has been deployed as the clear RB2 behind Bijan Robinson, he has found great success in favorable matchups. In Weeks 2, 4, and 6, Allgeier punched in three total TDs and averaged 12.3 PPR points per game.
In these three games, the Falcons were playing with a lead and leaned on their No. 2 RB to run out the clock. Facing a struggling Miami Dolphins team that has allowed the fourth-most PPR points to opposing RBs sets up Allgeier for a positive game script. If the Falcons hold a safe lead in the second half, expect them to rest their top option, which will give Allgeier ample opportunities.
Kyle Monangai (CHI) vs. BAL
45% Rostered
While many may have rushed to grab Monangai off the waiver wire, do not be afraid to start him this weekend. In fact, Monangai could carry sneaky RB2 upside in this contest, despite being the No. 2 option on his depth chart. Last weekend, the Bears opted to rely on a near 50/50 split in their backfield, which allowed the rookie to take 13 carries for 81 yards and a score.
With D'Andre Swift (groin) carrying another questionable tag into their Week 8 contest, Monangai could be given a similar workload. Facing a Baltimore defense that has allowed the second-most PPR points to opposing RBs puts the Rutgers product in a prime spot to continue his hot stretch.
