Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller

5043 articles

You won't find a bigger Cubs fan than myself. Aside from my love of fantasy sports, which includes MLB, NFL and NBA, I own my own animal care business. I graduated from Columbia College in Chicago and currently reside in Chicago, IL. My love of fantasy sports started for me in the early 2000's and I have steadily been active with the same group of friends year in and year out for every league in baseball, basketball and football. I am hoping to help all RotoBaller members with any questions they may have. I consider myself an expert with minor league prospects, as it is a love of mine. I hope to give the best advice I can to the RotoBaller world!

Edwin Encarnacion Could Return In A Couple Of Days

Chicago White Sox first baseman/designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion (back) was removed prior to Thursday’s contest with back tightness. Manager Rick Renteria said that the removal of Encarnacion was precautionary and that he should be expected back in a couple of days. Encarnacion will be in the middle of a good offensive lineup and should help […]

Edwin Encarnacion Dealing With Back Stiffness

Chicago White Sox first baseman/designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion (back) has been scratched from Thursday’s game with back tightness. More should be known on the sluggers status as the day goes on and he should be considered day-to-day for now. Encarnacion is aging, but will be in the middle of a good White Sox lineup and […]

Giolito is coming off of his first […]

The lefty went 3-2 with a 3.50 ERA in 17 starts and […]

Brandon Morrow Sidelined With Chest Injury

Chicago Cubs relief pitcher Brandon Morrow (chest) has suffered a right chest muscle strain and is considered day-to-day. The Cubs brought Morrow back on a minor league deal this offseason, but after missing the entire 2019 season, the injury prone right-hander will need to be healthy to have any chance of breaking camp with the […]

Lucas Giolito Throws On Saturday

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito (chest) felt 100% after throwing on Saturday. Giolito is recovering from a strained chest muscle and seems to be overcoming the injury. Giolito is coming off of a breakout season and should once again post strong numbers for the White Sox in 2020.

Leury Garcia And White Sox Come To Terms

The Chicago White Sox and infielder/outfield Leury Garcia have agreed to a one-year, $3.5 million deal with a team option for $3.5 million in 2021. Garcia hit a respectable .279 with eight home runs, 40 RBI, 93 runs scored and 15 stolen bases over 140 games. Garcia plays all over the diamond, but is likely […]

White Sox Extend Aaron Bummer

The Chicago White Sox have signed relief pitcher Aaron Bummer to a five-year, $16 million contract extension. The extension also has two club options and can reach $31 million. Bummer was very useful out of the White Sox bullpen last year and threw to a 2.13 ERA with 60 strikeouts in 67 2/3 innings. Bummer […]

Luis Robert Leading Off Saturday

Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert will be leading off on Saturday. Robert is arguably the best prospect in the game and has sky high potential heading into 2020. Michael Kopech Throwing Well In Spring Training

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Michael Kopech (elbow) showed “electric” stuff, according to White Sox catcher Seby Zavala. Kopech was once one of the best pitching prospects in the game and a key piece back in the Chris Sale deal, but he underwent Tommy John surgery in 2018 and missed all of 2019. Kopech has unlimited […]

Lucas Giolito To Throw On Saturday

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito (chest) is scheduled to throw on Saturday. Kris Bryant To Lead Off In 2020

Chicago Cubs third baseman/outfielder Kris Bryant will lead off for the Chicago Cubs in 2020. Bryant has been the subject of trade rumors, but it remains likely that he will open the season as a Cub. The former National League MVP will be in line to score more runs, but it will likely come at […]

Cubs Sign Jeremy Jeffress

The Chicago Cubs have agreed to a one-year contract with relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress. Jeffress had a rough 5.02 ERA over 48 appearances last season while battling shoulder and hip issues. Edwin Encarnacion Signs With White Sox

The Chicago White Sox have signed first baseman/designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion to a one-year, $12 million contract that includes a club option for $12 million in 2021. White Sox Come To Terms With Dallas Keuchel

The Chicago White Sox have signed free-agent starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel to a three-year, $55.5 million contract. Stephen Strasburg Returns To Nationals On Record Deal

The Washington Nationals have brought back starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg on a record deal worth $245 million over seven years. Strasburg opted out of the remaining four years and $100 million on his old contract. His new deal makes him the highest paid pitcher of all time, but Gerrit Cole is likely to top that […]

Yolmer Sanchez Placed On Waivers

The Chicago White Sox have placed Gold Glove second baseman Yolmer Sanchez on outright waivers. Sanchez offers versatility on defense, but his offensive struggles were enough for the White Sox to cut bait. Second base prospect Nick Madrigal has a real shot to break camp with the White Sox and would be worth a late […]

Cubs Acquire Jharel Cotton

The Chicago Cubs have acquired starting pitcher Jharel Cotton from the Oakland Athletics for cash considerations. White Sox Extend Jose Abreu

The Chicago White Sox have signed first baseman Jose Abreu to a three-year, $50 million contract extension. The White Sox have first baseman Andrew Vaughn rising up the ranks in their farm system and Abreu […]

Daniel Palka Designated For Assignment

The Chicago White Sox have designated outfielder Daniel Palka for assignment. Palka showed good power in 2018, but took a big step backwards in 2019. Palka hit .107 with 35 strikeouts in 84 at-bats. The move will open a spot for newly signed catcher Yasmani Grandal.

Yasmani Grandal Signs With White Sox

The Chicago White Sox have agreed to terms with free-agent catcher Yasmani Grandal. Jeff Passan of ESPN is reporting the deal is worth $73 million over four years. This marks the biggest contract in franchise history. Grandal,31, is coming off of a nice season with the Brewers and hit .246 with 28 home runs and […]

Dylan Cease Sidelined With Left Hamstring Strain

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Dylan Cease (hamstring) was scratched from Thursday’s start versus the Indians with a left hamstring strain. Anthony Rizzo Leading Off On Thursday

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (ankle) is leading off on Thursday. Rizzo was in a walking boot and expected to miss 5-to-7 days following a diagnosis of a sprained right ankle. Many thought Rizzo could have missed the rest of the season, but the slugger is returning after just four days. Rizzo will have […]

Anthony Rizzo To Wear Walking Boot

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (ankle) will be in a walking boot for five to seven days. Rizzo underwent an MRI on Monday and was diagnosed with a lateral right ankle sprain. Rizzo will be re-evaluated when he sheds the walking boot and more should be known about his return after that process. Catcher […]

Anthony Rizzo Exits With Ankle Injury

Chicago Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo (ankle) left Sunday’s game early with a sprained right ankle. Rizzo hurt his ankle when he was trying to field a bunt. The first baseman will have a MRI on Monday and that will help determine how long he may miss. Ian Happ took over at first base for […]
