Alexander Mattison is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for running backs. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 2 of the 2024 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team PPR Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 8% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Las Vegas Raiders running back Alexander Mattison made a significant impact in his first game with the team on Sunday afternoon. Although the Raiders lost, Mattison was their most productive running back in fantasy football, with four catches for 43 yards and one touchdown.
In the ground game, Mattison rushed five times for 19 yards, while Zamir White rushed 13 times for 44 yards.
Neither back was incredibly efficient on the ground, but we gained some additional clarity into the backfield dynamic. White appears to be the early-down back who fights for yards on the ground, while Mattison is the third-down guy who commands volume in the passing attack.

This gives Mattison significant value in PPR leagues; if he's getting a handful of targets every game, managers will benefit with a few extra fantasy points.
As a result, Mattison is an intriguing waiver wire target, especially in 12-team (or deeper 10-team) leagues that follow PPR scoring. He could be a matchup-based FLEX play behind White, and he'd likely vault to the fringe top-28 range if White suffered an injury.
