Alec Pierce is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 3 of the 2024 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce has taken advantage of the injury to Josh Downs, putting up big numbers in the early stages of the 2024 season.
In Week 1, Pierce had three catches for 125 yards and a touchdown, including a huge 60-yard grab that showcased his ability to serve as a downfield threat for quarterback Anthony Richardson.
Then, in Week 2, Pierce followed that up with five catches for 56 yards and a touchdown on seven targets, which showcased his ability to make plays in the short and medium passing game.
Why didn't we hear more about Alec Pierce from Colts beat reporters this offseason?
Through 2 games
Alec Pierce - 8 catches, 181 yards, 2 TDs
Michael Pittman Jr. - 7 catches, 52 yards, 0 TDsJosh Downs returns soon, but it's hard to see the Colts scaling back Pierce's snaps…

Until Adonai Mitchell gets up to speed, Pierce should continue to see strong usage as the team's No. 2 receiver. That position might be a little tenuous considering the players behind him in the pecking order right now, but Pierce has flex appeal as long as he continues to hold them off.
