Alec Pierce is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 16% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce capitalized on the absence of the team's (former) lead receiver, Michael Pittman Jr. (back). Pierce caught four of his seven targets for 81 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

This play happened in garbage time, though. The game was well out of reach, and quarterback Joe Flacco was merely padding his stats. When the game mattered, Pierce was mostly shut down, and it was receivers Adonai Mitchell and Josh Downs that did the majority of the work.
Mitchell is the better player to pick up here, as Downs is already rostered in 86% of leagues. Mitchell is an elite separator, and though there were some concerns about him playing soft, he had a breakout game of sorts, catching all six of his targets and contributing when the game was within reach.

If he can clean up some of the mistakes in his game, he can be a great receiver. That may take some time, though. Mitchell is a solid pickup, but Pierce should only be added in very deep leagues.

The Houston Texans got blasted in Week 7 by the Seattle Seahawks. Their passing offense has struggled massively this year, with quarterback C.J. Stroud playing poorly.
