New England Patriots impending free-agent cornerback J.C. Jackson is looking to become one of the league's premier cornerbacks when it comes to gauging his next contract. For context, Los Angeles Rams cornerback Ramsey inked a five-year, $100 million deal with L.A., which included a $25 million signing bonus and eventually $71 million guaranteed, a steep investment for any club looking to secure Jackson's services. Jackson, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent, is coming off his first Pro Bowl selection in 2021, the same year that he led the NFL in passes defended (23). The 26-year-old started all 17 games for the Patriots last season and could have the franchise tag placed on him, although that would be a significant financial commitment from the organization's perspective.
