Chiefs Re-Sign Josh Gordon

The Kansas City Chiefs re-signed wide receiver Josh Gordon to a Reserve/Futures contract on Wednesday. The Chiefs picked Gordon up early last season when his indefinite suspension was lifted by the league, and he played in 12 games for Kansas City, catching only five of his 14 targets for 32 yards and one touchdown in the regular season. Head coach Andy Reid said that the team was looking to get the 30-year-old receiver more involved in the offense, but it just never came to be, and Gordon was stuck behind Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman, Byron Pringle and Demarcus Robinson in the receiving pecking order. Gordon will have a full offseason to better learn the offense, and he could have a bigger role in 2022, depending on whether Pringle and Robinson return in free agency.
