Washington Capitals left wing Alex Ovechkin did not practice on Thursday because of an upper-body injury, but the 36-year-old is expected to play against the Islanders on Saturday afternoon. Ovechkin is currently third in the NHL with 52 points through 37 games, while he is tied for second in the goal scoring race with 24 goals on the season.
