Alex Anzalone To Miss The Final Three Games
Detroit Lions linebacker Alex Anzalone (shoulder) will miss the final three games of the 2021 season, but the Lions don't think his injury is a long-term issue. Detroit officially placed Anzalone on Injured Reserve on Monday after he was injured in the Week 15 upset win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The 27-year-old will end the year with a team-leading 78 tackles (49 solo), one tackle for loss, two QB hits, one interception, seven passes defensed and one sack in 14 starts. Anzalone has a long history of shoulder problems and dislocated his right shoulder three times in a five-season span in college and early in his NFL career. He played just two games in 2019 before having his second shoulder surgery. Before his latest shoulder injury, Anzalone was a defensive captain and was one of the team's most durable players.
