New York Jets safety Marcus Maye (Achilles) suffered a torn Achilles in the Thursday night loss to the Indianapolis Colts and will miss the rest of the season. Maye went down with a non-contact injury in the second half on Thursday, and it didn't look good. It's extremely bad timing for the 28-year-old, who is in a contract year while playing the 2021 on the franchise tag. In six games played before his injury, Maye had recorded 46 tackles and one sack for Gang Green. Maye is unlikely to be back with the Jets in 2022, and his free-agent market will depend on how his recovery from the torn Achilles is going in the offseason. There's also the chance that the Jets decide to use the franchise tag on Maye again for next season. The Jets secondary is really vulnerable now with Lamarcus Joyner also out for the year with a torn triceps.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
