Elijah Moore is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for wide receivers. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 9 of the 2021 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 16% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: I know. Trusting a rookie wide receiver might be hard to do. Trusting a rookie wide receiver playing for a rookie quarterback might be even harder. Trusting a rookie wide receiver playing for a rookie quarterback that is the backup of another rookie quarterback sounds like too much of a gamble (and a mess to write). But here we are with Elijah Moore and the New York Jets, folks.
That's correct. This week we're banking on both Moore and new starter and 2018 draftee Mike White, he of the Week 8 masterful QB2 finish against the Cincinnati Bengals thanks to a ridiculous 37-of-45, 405-yard, 3-touchdown, 2-interception game. LOL. Now, back to seriousness. It's very probable that both White and much-more-hyped-and-now-injured QB Zach Wilson doesn't have that different of a ceiling all things considered. And it's very probable that Elijah Moore keeps his steady diet of 5+ targets going no matter who throws the rock.
Moore has been targeted 4+ times in all but one game (he logged a season-low 23 snaps in that W5 tilt in Atlanta). Moore, though, has been a little bit up and down when it came to actually catch the ball, but he's putting up a weekly 6-3-29 line that (I think) doesn't really represent this man's talents. The snaps were ridiculously high to start the year (Crowder was out) but they are now (last four games) down to an unreasonable 45% share, which I'm convinced will go up as the season progresses. Moore is coming off a 6-6-67 day in which he scored 13.1 PPR points. If he can keep something to that tune-up, Moore would be more than a viable deeper-league WR3/Flex starter ROS.
