Brandon Bolden is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup option for running backs. Target him as a free agent add off waivers for Week 8 of the 2021 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: New England Patriots running back Brandon Bolden did his best James White (hip) impression in Week 7 against the New York Jets. Bolden caught six of his season-high seven targets for 79 yards and his first touchdown of the year. Since White's season-ending hip injury in Week 3, Bolden has been the only Patriots running back who has shown life in the passing game. He's now caught 20 of his 22 targets for 162 yards on the year and he needs to be on the radar of all fantasy managers in PPR leagues.
Damien Harris is the team's clear No. 1 running back at this point. He's seen double-digit carries in five of seven games and has a total of 95 rushing attempts on the year. Rhamondre Stevenson is second on the team in rushing attempts with just 17. Stevenson was a healthy scratch in Week 7, which is a good indication that the team plans on moving forward with just two primary running backs. Harris will be the rushing downs option and Bolden will be the passing downs option. Despite Harris dominating carries and snaps throughout the year, he's only been targeted 11 times in the passing game.
Bolden should be claimed off the waiver wire by anyone in a PPR league of 12 teams or deeper who needs running back help. He has a clear role on the team and he's coming off his best game in that role. He should continue to see at least five targets per game going forward and at his current catch rate (91%), that should enable him to be a solid flex option in most PPR formats.
