The Florida Panthers signed franchise center Aleksander Barkov to an eight-year, $80 million ($10 million average annual value) contract extension on Friday. The 26-year-old, who was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2021-2022 season, will now remain a Panther through the 2029-2030 campaign. Barkov has established himself as one of, if not the very best, two-way center in the sport and is coming off a season in which he recorded 58 points (26 goals, 32 assists), a plus-12 rating, 19 power-play points and 176 shots in 50 contests. The Finnish native is a top-25 player in most fantasy formats.--Chase Davis - RotoBaller
