George Kittle Not Practicing Wednesday
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle (calf) was held out of practice on Wednesday. Kittle caught only four of his 11 targets for 40 yards in the Week 4 loss to the Seattle Seahawks, and he's listed as day-to-day to begin the week after aggravating the calf injury that had him listed questionable going into the game. Kittle will need to at least get in a limited practice session this week if he wants to play this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. The 27-year-old remains a high-end TE1 despite two down performances in a row and a quarterback situation in flux. If rookie quarterback Trey Lance is forced to make the first start of his NFL career, you may want to temper expectations for Kittle against a Cardinals D that has allowed only 93 yards and no touchdowns to tight ends through four games.
