The San Francisco 49ers are finalizing a deal for veteran cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick on Monday, according to a source. Kirkpatrick will provide some starting experience following another season-ending injury to cornerback Jason Verrett in the Week 1 win over the Detroit Lions. Kirkpatrick most recently played for the Arizona Cardinals in 2020, racking up 56 tackles (53 solo), three interceptions and seven passes defensed in 14 games (11 starts), so the 31-year-old could see a significant role for the 49ers eventually. The 49ers defense as a whole should still be considered a strong weekly starting unit in fantasy heading into a Week 2 showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
