Le'Veon Bell Joins Ravens Practice Squad
3 years agoThe Baltimore Ravens have signed free-agent running back Le'Veon Bell to their practice squad. Bell opened 2020 with the Jets but was eventually cut loose and scooped up by the Chiefs. In total through 11 games last year, he amassed 466 scrimmage yards and just two touchdowns. The 29-year-old made three Pro Bowls and was a two-time first-team All-Pro with the Steelers from 2013 to 2017. However, a contract holdout in 2018 drastically hurt the trajectory of his career. Now, the former second-round pick will provide depth on Baltimore's practice squad. The Ravens are desperately in need of backfield help after losing J.K. Dobbins (knee) and Justice Hill (Achilles) for the season. The team projects to have Gus Edwards as its starter, while Ty'Son Williams occupies the backup role. Bell could be elevated to the active roster sooner rather than later, but it's too early to pursue him in most fantasy leagues.
