3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance (finger) suffered a small "chip" fracture, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan. The injury should heal on its own over the next week. The No. 3 overall pick appeared in all three preseason games, going 19-for-41 with 276 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. He also added 16 rushing yards and an additional score on the ground. The North Dakota State product is expected to fill a backup role to open the year but will be the next man up if incumbent starter Jimmy Garoppolo falters. For this reason, it's worth rostering Lance, who possesses both mobility and arm strength, in most Superflex or dynasty leagues.
