Philadelphia Phillies fast-rising prospect Mick Abel was mowing down hitters again on Friday. The 19-year-old hurler did not allow a hit in five innings of work. He struck out eight batters and issued four free passes. It's not unusual for tall pitchers to struggle with their command and control early in their career while they learn to keep all their long limbs in sync. Abel stands 6-foot-5 and has issued 20 walks in 38 1/ 3 innings of work but he's also struck out 58 hitters and allowed just 23 hits. Ranked by Rotoballer as the 12th best talent in the 2020 amateur draft — and the top prep pitcher available — he went 15th over to the Phillies and looks like a steal. He's currently ranked as the 82nd-best prospect in baseball in his first pro season.--Marc Hulet - RotoBallerRead More News
