DraftKings CBB DFS Lineup Picks for 3/7/21 - Daily Fantasy College Basketball Advice

CBB DFS lineup picks DraftKings NCAA daily college fantasy basketball

Mike Marteny offers his DraftKings daily fantasy college basketball sleepers for 3/7/21. His CBB DFS lineup picks and sleepers will help you win on DraftKings.

We've got a jam-packed Sunday of college basketball for you today as the final tuneup before the major conference tournaments. This slate has the tournament finals for the Big South and Atlantic Sun, so we see some teams that are seldom on DraftKings slates, but we'll be seeing two of these teams at least once more when the NCAA tournament starts. Sprinkle in a little Big 12(10) and SEC to go with a healthy dose of the Big Ten(14), and we have some fun spots here!

In college basketball it's perfectly fine to ignore slow-paced games or teams with tough matchups on a large slate like this. Choosing a couple of spots wisely has been the key this year. This could be a lower scoring slate as Wisconsin-Iowa tops all projected totals at 144.5. The Big South title game between Campbell and Winthrop is the only other game projected over 140. Nebraska-Northwestern comes in right at that mark. The rest of the game are at least in the 130's. None of the games are a full fade for me, but both Winthrop and Liberty are double digit favorites. I'd tread lightly there.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy college basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 3/7/21. I’ll be providing multiple player suggestions for players at guard and forward, aiming to highlight one option apiece at the high, middle, and lower end of the salary scale. Good luck, RotoBallers.

DraftKings CBB DFS Guards

Chandler Vaudrin, Winthrop ($9,400)

As Vaudrin goes, so go the Eagles. Vaudrin leads Winthrop in points and assists per game. He put up 82.75 DraftKings points in the two regular season tilts with the Camels this season. There's a lot riding on this game for Winthrop, and I think they leave little doubt that they're the best team in the Big South behind a big game from Vaudrin. If you're paying up at guard, Vaudrin is worth it.

Darius McGhee, Liberty ($8,000)

As with many of these smaller schools, Liberty is very guard-oriented too. McGhee leads the team in steals, scoring by a large margin, and is second in assists and rebounds. He does a little bit of everything. In the two prior games against North Alabama this year, McGhee scored 53 actual points and put up 71.25 DraftKings points.  One thing of note is that Liberty has already clinched the Big South bid because North Alabama is not eligible for the NCAA Tournament yet. They haven't been in Division 1 long enough. Of course, if you don't like to gamble, Franz Wagner is the same price and is a sure 30 against Michigan State. I just prefer the upside of McGhee.

Dalano Blanton, Nebraska ($7,300)

Blanton was one of two bright spots for Nebraska against Iowa on Thursday. The Cornhuskers lost by 38 points, but Blanton put up an impressive 28.5 DraftKings points in the 20 minutes that he played in that game. Blanton puts up crooked numbers in a lot of categories, so he provides a nice floor since he doesn't rely solely on scoring. If Blanton can play around 28 minutes or so, he's a nice bargain for the price. However, his minutes haven't been up that high since the team returned from a COVID layoff. There's risk here, but Blanton's fantasy points per minute are hard to ignore.

Brad Davison, Wisconsin ($5,300)

Davison plays a ton of minutes, which is one of the first things that I look at in a value pick. It doesn't hurt that Davison has at least 20 DraftKings points in four straight games, a streak that started against this same Iowa team back on February 18. Davison is a sharpshooter from the outside, but as he proved against Illinois last weekend, he's active all over the floor as well. I like the nice floor in a value pick and the upside is solid as this game could turn into a three point shooting contest. That would be nice for DFS since the Wisconsin pieces are absurdly cheap compared to their Iowa counterparts.

Also consider: Joe Wieskamp, Iowa ($8,400); Dejon Jarreau, Houston ($7,900); Tyree Appleby, Florida ($6,500); Adonis Arms, Winthrop ($4,900); Santiago Vescovi, Tennessee ($3,800)

DraftKings CBB DFS Forwards

Luka Garza, Iowa ($10,000)

The Badgers couldn't handle Garza in the first meeting as he took them for 46.5 DraftKings points in that game. Garza has the highest ceiling on the slate, but I would doubt that he plays 36 minutes again if Iowa wins this one by 15 points. Iowa needs Garza for a deep tournament run and will likely rest him if they get up big this time. It's not often that the safest play and the play with the most upside on the slate are the same player, but that appears to be the case with Garza here today.

Hunter Dickinson, Michigan ($7,000)

Dickinson was a bit of a problem for Michigan State when they met earlier this week. The freshman put up 25 DraftKings points in just 23 minutes in the easy win for the Wolverines. It could have been a much better game for Dickinson if he could limit the turnovers. At any rate, I like the upside on Dickinson here where there aren't a lot of forwards to get excited about today. The ceiling isn't really high with Isaiah Livers around, but it's high enough in this price range.

Lat Mayen, Nebraska ($6,300)

Mayen had a rough month of February after a solid January, but he has gotten back on track in March. In fact, he's better than ever. Mayen has 69.5 DraftKings points in 54 minutes in the two March games so far. Northwestern may not be able to stop him either. I'm willing to ride Mayen while he's on a roll, but he's more volatile than most. Remember that he was a ghost for much of February. Mayen's nine successful three-point shots are more than he had the last two weeks of February combined.

Noah Locke, Florida ($4,100)

The minutes are there for Locke, but his peripheral numbers leave a lot to be desired. The fact is that you need Locke to shoot well to have any chance at getting value out of him. However, Locke's price has plummeted $1,100 in the last two weeks thanks to a nasty little slump. I like the chance to get a scorer like Locke on the cheap, especially considering that he put up 21.75 DraftKings points in the first game against Tennessee. His ceiling is higher than most in this price range.

Also consider: Deandre Williams, Memphis ($8,200); Micah Potter, Wisconsin ($6,500); Kyle Rode, Liberty ($5,100); Micah Peavy, Texas Tech ($4,000)
