Washington Capitals goaltender Vitek Vanecek became the eighth netminder in the league to reach 10 wins for the season when he had 18 saves in Wednesday's 2-1 shootout victory at Boston. Lars Eller scored the lone goal in regulation for the streaking Capitals, who have notched four wins on the bounce. Vanecek has collected three of the victories to take his record for the year to 10-4-3. He has posted a 2.69 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage. Washington was dealt a big blow at the start of the year when Ilya Samsonov was forced to miss an extended period due to COVID-19, but Vanecek has more than held his own, and the team's goalie pairing looks very strong.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
