Japanese relief pitcher Hirokazu Sawamura has traveled to the United States to negotiate with major league teams, according to a Nikkan Sports report. He's primarily been a reliever since 2015 and had a 1.71 ERA with 29 strikeouts and 10 walks in 21 innings for the Chiba Lotte Marines in 2020. He'll turn 33 years old in April and tops out at 99 mph while sitting in the low-90s with his fastball. Sawamura's primary secondary pitch is his splitter, which sits in the low-90s. The right-hander has a 2.77 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP in nine seasons in the Nippon Professional Baseball league. Sawamura is a maximum-effort reliever that could find his way into a fantasy relevant role in the back end of a team's bullpen for the 2021 season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
