Brooklyn Inks Iman Shumpert To Contract
Veteran shooting guard Iman Shumpert is joining the Brooklyn Nets, per Shams Charania of The Athletic. Shumpert played 13 games with the Nets last season as a reserve, averaging 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds across 18.5 minutes on a nightly basis. Known for his defensive acumen, Shumpert would likely reprise a wing defender role among the second unit if he is able to crack the rotation. That limited gig keeps him from being a season-long asset at this stage, although he could play his way into DFS appeal should injuries strike the Brooklyn backcourt at any point.
