Chiefs wide receiver (WR) Mecole Hardman is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 17 of the 2020 NFL season.
BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED: 28% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman has seen an increased share of targets over the past two weeks. In Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons, he was targeted six times, tying him for second on the team with Tyreek Hill and Darrel Williams, trailing only Travis Kelce, who had 13. In Week 15 against the New Orleans Saints, he tied a season-high with nine targets, third on the team behind Kelce (12) and Hill (10).
Hardman's production over the past two weeks has been uninspiring. He's caught just six passes for 46 yards and a touchdown. However, the Chiefs' offense has been a little underwhelming as a whole since Week 15. The Falcons held Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to just 17 points in Week 16.
In Week 17, the Chiefs face the Los Angeles Chargers in a game that should be high-scoring. The Chargers are allowing 27 points per game and the Chiefs are scoring 30.1 points per game.
Hardman is worth an add for anyone who needs a WR3, WR4 or flex in leagues of 12 teams or deeper for Week 17. He appears to be Mahomes' third target right now, which makes him a threat for a big game or even just a touchdown on a weekly basis.
