Two-way Cuban player Oscar Luis Colas has been declared a free agent by the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks of the Nippon League, according to a source. Colas will now petition for MLB free agency and would be eligible to sign under international signing guidelines, likely during the period that starts Jan. 15. He'll turn 22 in September and has been called the Cuban Ohtani for his ability to play all three outfield positions and third base, and he's also a left-handed pitcher. Colas hit .302 with a .515 slugging percentage and 11 home runs in the minors for the Hawks in 2019 and .278 with a homer in seven games for the big league club. If he becomes eligible to be posted in the U.S., he'll become an interest prospect for MLB teams.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
