The Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters of the Japanese League posted right-hander Kohei Arihara on Thursday. The 28-year-old has a 3.65 career ERA over 882 innings in Japan. The move starts a 30-day window for all 30 major league teams to negotiate with Arihara. He went 8-9 with a 3.46 ERA in 20 games for the Fighters in 2020 with 106 strikeouts in 132 2/3 innings. The year before, Arihara went 15-8 with a 2.46 ERA in 24 games with 161 K's in 164 1/3 innings. The Japanese righty features a four-seam and two-seam fastball, with his best strikeout pitch being a high-80s splitter. He'll also use a low-80s slider against righties and will mix in a cutter, changeup and curveball to left-handed batters.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
