The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired linebacker Avery Williamson and a 2022 seventh-round pick from the New York Jets on Monday in exchange for a 2022 fifth-round pick. Williamson will go from the league's worst record (0-8) to the best record at 7-0 with the Steelers. He'll help replace Devin Bush, who suffered a season-ending knee injury two weeks ago. Williamson is in the final year of his contract and will make $2.75 million after taking a pay cut in the preseason. Patrick Onwuasor, who is eligible to return from Injured Reserve, is expected to fill the void left by Williamson in New York. Williamson played 56 of 66 defensive snaps in Week 8 against the Chiefs, logging nine tackles. In another lost season, the Jets have now acquired 18 draft picks for 2021 and 2022. Williamson ranks 16th among all NFL linebackers with 36 tackles in 2020.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
