Updating an ongoing story, the Major League Baseball Players Association has finalized a proposal to the league for a season in the neighborhood of 70 games, according to sources. The season would run from July 19 to Sept. 30 and would include full pro-rated salaries and $50 million in playoff bonuses. It would also include a 50/50 split of playoff revenues in 2021, forgiveness of salary advance for Tier 1-3 players, a universal designated hitter and a mutual waiver of grievance. The league is unlikely to accept the proposal, but the two sides are close enough for there to be optimism that there will be a 2020 season, whether it's via a deal or MLB setting a shorter schedule.--Keith HernandezRead More News
